letter to the shepherds

Letter fifteen, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level One Atrium, March 27 2011

Dear Shepherds-

Praise to Jesus the Good Shepherd !

Our little lambs are so full of life!

That word “Life”

We heard it repeated many times in the parables of the Good Shepherd, Our Teacher, who wants the sheep to “have life and have it to the full”

What is life? What did the Good Shepherd mean? “I will lay down my life for the sheep”

In Atrium work we visit the city -- we visit the room in that city – the Cenacle—in that room you took your last meal on earth before your crucifixion… you met your friends to celebrate the Jewish feast of Passover… with them you sang songs of praise.

We will take up the chalice in our hands as you did, and we will bless it and pass it to each of your friends.

We will hear the words you said: “this is my blood of the new and everlasting covenant…”

Good Shepherd, we are preparing our atrium altar We lay the purple cloth on the atrium prayer table, We learn the way to prepare the cruets for use by the priest at Mass, we learn how he washes his hands in the lavabo bowl before holding the bread of the Eucharist. We learn by hearing and touching. We learn by praying, knowing you are listening, Good Shepherd.

Many days, many things are difficult for us, many things make us fearful, angry, we do not understand.

Good Shepherd grant me and my friends the wisdom to know the power of your love, grant me the patience and serenity to know assuredly that the answer to my prayer, YOUR will, will be done in your time, Your ways so far above us.

In coming weeks may we see with new eyes the gathering of your people around your altar – The Altar of the Good Shepherd. The words and action will be seen again in our Atrium work –We will hear the parable of the lost Sheep, we will see Jesus in the Eucharistic Presence of the Good Shepherd. Psalm 23 will be heard. Open our ears Lord. Pray for our atrium that the Holy Spirit remain in the work of our hands and eyes. Let us see with new eyes these remaining Lenten weeks, the gathering of the “flock led by His hand”

Let us wonder – about the time you laid down your life, let us be eager to raise our A-words in praise and joy,

O Jesus you are preparing our hearts for joy— We will walk with you into the gates, the city of Jerusalem… Holy holy holy Lord, Hosanna!

happy birthday six year old@

observe the three to six year old child, innocent, soaking up language, culture, putting tools to hand, developing coordination and the expression of movement, color, music

learn her ways, focus on the moment, take a small bit to learn at a time and learn it well
enjoy sweet stuff, but work it off immediately

pretend

live in reality.

learn that prayer is a real relationship

learn that joy is in everything if someone doesnt keep you from embracing it.
dont be that someone

2008- tried a corporate job 2009 came back to the hospital

Yes, I can market myself, perform as a trainer, an orientation coordinator. Better than I would have believed. What I really want is to get back to a classroom full time. Now I am ready. to be the role model, to be in command of the class, confident in the ability to evaluate performance in a controlled knowledge settng.
Here mid 2009, getting back on my feet insofar as mortgage and the mess created by never being home. So what happens? A momma cat downloads 6 kittens in my kitchen.
Come on, any one inspired to have a cat possess them? These cats are people-ready
My five-year-old granddaughter says it so clearly-- "ILove having fun with the cats but Nana, your house is a mess. You need help".. Yes, Allison, you are so right.

November 2005--Katrina aftermath, rebuilding a city, a family

My brother Paul and his family literally blown out of the state on a wave of traffic. Into the Path of Rita. Their lives are now all the more precious to me. God Bless them and all who have taken care of them in these frightening times. They will grow in many new directions. All this is for the good.

Sept 4 Picayune:copied from sprasad blogsite-worth repeating

copied from sprasad- Dr Prasad, thank you for your site. I hope to meet you sometime soon.
quoted from Mary, posting good advice for return to Picayune or any other disaster site:

"Only advice I can give you is this.

Bring your OWN supplies for food, water and gas. (especially enough gas to get yourself back home... it is in short supply.) Depending on how long you are planning to stay in area, a tent may not be a bad idea either. Plan to be HOT and sweaty... Oh, also tarps and rope. SAFE water.

Essentially, don't plan on having it (or being able to get it), unless you bring it with you. Even if they DO have it down there, the locals stuck there have a greater need of it than you.

Also, bring battery operated fans (if you can find them) with enough batteriers to run them."

Thank you for helping my family & our neighbors after KATRINA...

COPIED FROM BLOGGER POST IN SPRASAD-- THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP YOU ARE GIVING MY FRIENDS, FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS IN NEW ORLEANS, METAIRIE, SLIDELL, LA, AND CARRIERE, PICAYUNE, BILOXI, GULFPORT, SAUCIER, PASCAGOULA, AND BAY ST. LOUIS, MS. I HOPE TO BE WITH YOU SOON. CONTACT ME AT aanntilles@alltel.net or text message 6782306116 on cingular. Thank you thank you!
"..lost everything. Her writing partner jumped into action and with the team at DVA put together a new resource for Hurricane Katrina

victims that you should know about. It is called LIFE LIST, and more info
can be found at www.lifelist.us
We know that many are desperate to communicate with loved ones, and that access to phone service is limited. Several mobile companies are offering free service areas, and many shelters and churches are providing limited
phone time. However, neither of these scenarios provide people with the time
and access needed to reach out for help in any detail.
So yesterday we devised a plan, and went into action. LIFE LIST was born,
and it has quickly and quietly caught on.
With one toll-free call to LIFE LIST, Katrina victims can alert loved ones
to their location, update them on their well-being and begin to make initial
contact for additional assistance. Those in need simply leave a 1-minute
toll-free voicemail at 1-877-LIFE-LIST - from answering online posts about
housing to letting a friend know that they are alive.
LIFE LIST volunteers - regular people from all walks of life - then
personally deliver that message on their own phone on behalf of those who
cannot do so for themselves.
It's as easy as that... 1-877-LIFE-LIST.
I will be fielding phone calls myself.
